No Child Should Have to Fall Behind

Many families can't afford to send their children to private preschools. Bossier Office of Community Services is here to help make up the difference and keep our children ahead of the curve. Our child development programs, including the Head Start/Early Head Start program, can help young children learn important developmental skills and stay engaged.

The Bossier Office of Community Services Head Start Program provides a comprehensive child development program for 439 children and their families throughout Bossier Parish. We're here to give each child a greater sense of dignity and self-esteem, and to ensure that each child develops the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary for success in school and later in life.

Children ages 0-5 who are determined to be income-eligible may enroll and participate in our Head Start/Early Head Start Program. At least 90% of the children enrolled are from low-income families with preference given to the lowest income families. No less than 10% of the total enrollment is available for disabled children.

There are four Head Start sites located throughout Bossier Parish, and one Early Head Start Center located in Bossier City.
